We arrived on the last day of the carnevale. Venice resembles a posh halloween party at this time.
People dress as madly as they can to pose for tourist photos, they love it. It's full of prima donnas looking for attention.Normally Venetians wear fur coats and huge sunglasses in the rain by day. They don't know how to queue and barge past you and pout a lot and are incredibly unfriendly. The food is dreadful too. On a positive it's a very pretty city, my tip is don't bother with most of the galleries and museums as they are pants and expensive, the ducale palace being the only exception. It's well worth going to Murano for a half day to see the glass works which are superb. It's a wonderful yet strange city, I haven't really made up my mind about it yet...
